Pomonal Native Flower Show

Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October 2011

Pomonal Wildflower Show

The 29th annual Pomonal Native Flower Show will be held this spring on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October 2011 from 9.30 till 5.00 each day. Presented to the public by the Grampians Group of the Australian Plants Society, it was one of the first native flower shows in Victoria and is still one of the best. The show never ceases to amaze visitors with its colours and scents and diversity. The show features flowers native to all states of Australia, from the spectacular to the small and pretty.

See many, many Grevilleas and Hakeas, Eucalypts, Darwinias, Dryandras and Waratahs, Isopogons, Dampieras and Banksias. Over 400 named flowers will be on display and all picked from member’s gardens. Come and be inspired!

Light refreshments will be available as well as Indian food and local wine tastings. You can also buy from a large range of native plants, many unusual and rarely available. There will be heavily discounted natural history and gardening books for sale. A local botanical artist in residence will have floral art and craft for sale. You can also buy a beautiful bunch of native flowers to take home with you.

The show is held at the Pomonal Hall on the Ararat Rd in the centre of the Pomonal township, just ten minutes from Halls Gap. Entry for adults is $5 and children are free and there will be many lucky door prizes to be won over the two days. You can make a weekend of it and visit the Halls Gap Wildflower Show and the Moyston Art Show as well.

This year's theme "In Your Backyard" will delight visitors, displaying how native plants will enhance your own backyard, bbq and entertaining area. Come and see a special little girl named Daisy.
